The year's coming to a close, and the general feeling is, was that it?
War, flooding, heatwaves, and humans are still breaking down the climate....
Is the year already over?
Is the year already over?
Well, yes, and that's why it's time to take stock and despite everything, try to find some positives...! If you're reading this, you should probably do the same. Go on, DO IT! The alternative is not to do it, and ignore the fact that life is still full of good things.
Step one : list some important events/achievements for you in 2023.
In this order, here are my little achievements for the year :
1 had a second child !
1 had a second child !
2 I got a job at a software company
3 launched two of my own web apps.
4 got another freelance client
5 read a couple of programming books, including Sandy Metz's POODR,
6 learnt some more in depth database stuff, and optimised some SQL queries and actually understood how and why they work better.
Step two : look at your achievements and make at least one assessment.
Looking at this list, I realise they are the result of lot's of little efforts, repeated on a daily basis.
Whether that is in my relationships, work, studies family etc..
Step three: congratulate yourself and appreciate that you have achieved something :)
Conclusion : I could probably do it all again in 2024! Although, 2 kids is enough for now ...
Thanks for reading.
